Well we had our first beach trip on Wednesday!! I forgot my camera so no pics:( sorry. It was my dads birthday on Wednesday, he would have been 52 this year, and so I thought what better way to commemorate that occasion than to spend the day at his FAVORITE place. It's weird I wasn't close to my dad as most of you know for the last 7 or 8 years of his life but I still find myself remembering him at weird moments. Most of all I wonder what kind of grandparent he would have been. I often wonder if the kids would have been the one thing he needed to get his life on track. I know he would have gotten such a kick out of them. I catch myself every now and then laughing at something they said or did and thinking that would have made my dad crack up or that was something my dad would have said/done. Most of all though I feel sorry for my kids. They have alot of uncles (blood related or those we have chose for them) and they are all great influences and presences in our kids life but they don't have a grandpa on either side of the family. I know for me my grandpa (on my moms side) was one of the most special relationships in my life and I miss him still today, but i have sooo many great memories and those are memories and a relationship that my kids will never have. Well enough serious again. Long story short the kids had a great time at the beach Jailyn LOVES the water! She probably fell face first into the waves 50 times and still got up every time and jumped right back in!! Marcus with his water phobia spent most of his time up by me and auntie Bonnie in the sand but he did play at the edge of the water a little in the end!! Next time I'll remember my camera because there were a lot of great shots I missed this time. Well that's all for now!! Until next time!! LOVE TO YOU ALL!!! :)
Well there were some of us who thought she'd never settle down but she did and it was a beautiful ceremony. Yup my little sister Alicia got married on Saturday!!!! She looked gorgeous and I must say that she had the cutest ring bearer and flower girl around!!! I'm biased I know!!! :P They did such a good job too!! Jailyn actually walked down the isle instead of having to be carried like in my wedding and escorted by bridesmaids like in Desi's wedding . And Marcus little power ranger that he is even stopped to do a karate kick half way down the isle! It was adorable!!! Well here are some of the pics I took!!! Enjoy!!!! CONGRATS TEE!!
Our little girl officially completed Kindergarten on Friday!! They don't call it graduation but they had a big celebration with face painting, a petting zoo, balloon animals and a magician, then they had an awards ceremony. It was alot of fun even Marcus had a good time!!! Jailyn was sad to leave her teacher and her friends but she's still really excited for all the stuff she's going to so this summer. That's it for this post. I'll post a new one tomorrow!!! Here's a teaser for those interested though there are some really cute wedding pics yet to come......
As a few of you have brought to my attention I haven't been very good about keeping this blog updated as I promised!!! Sorry I'll try to do better, hope you can forgive me :) Let's see lots to share.... Jailyn: My sweet girl is now after spending the 1st 6 1/2 years of her life in our bed is now officially sleeping in her own room(with Marcus of course, but I'll take it). Tomorrow morning she will be able to check off day #30 and to celebrate she gets to have her best friend spend the night!! She's really excited!!! She continues to do well in school!! She's starting to read like crazy everywhere we go she's reading the signs. She also suffered her first major disappointment this past month. Her school held tryouts for their talent show and Jailyn REALLY wanted to try out so I helped her learn a song from Wicked that she really likes, she worked so hard for 2 weeks straight. About 1 week into practicing I heard a rumor that they were only going to choose 10 kids total from the whole school, at that point I wanted to tell her she couldn't tryout but I knew I couldn't do that because she wanted to soo bad so I kept telling her that there was a chance that she wouldn't make it. Well tryouts came and she got up there in front of a room full of people and sang her song( which you all know for my daughter that was HUGE because she's always sooo shy in front of a room full of people she's known her whole life let alone a room full of strangers). So the next week they post a list on the office door and she didn't make it. I had to tell her and it broke my heart!! She started to sob and ask me why. "Why didn't they pick me?" " What did I do wrong?" It was a huge blow to her confidence and with help from Auntie bonnie we are trying to build it back up although she still says she's not going to sing again because she's not good enough. I'm soo mad at myself for setting her up for this blow, but it was a damned if I do and damned if I don't situation for me. If I didn't let her tryout it would've hurt her confidence and gone against what I always tell that she can do anything she puts her mind to if I told her she shouldn't tryout because she probably wouldn't make it. It turns out though that by letting her tryout and get rejected she still took a huge hit to her confidence. Just another hard knock of parenting, no matter how much we want to we can't protect them from all the pain out there:( OK enough sentimental babble!!! Marcus: Just as cute as ever!! He is getting better with his potty training. He's pretty much completely trained at home he can even stay dry through naps most days!! Out and about we still where pull up most places especially places where we can't get to a bathroom at a moments notice. We do venture out without the pull ups sometimes and he is getting better though!!! A day without diapers is somewhere in my future seeing the finish line!! AT LAST!!!!!! He's still doing gymnastics and he LOVES it!!! He LOVES to jump on the giant trampoline into the foam pit that's his favorite!! (THANKS AUNTIE TEE TEE). He's been asking about preschool more and more these days so once we have potty training down it will be time to start looking around:( My baby is growing up too fast!!!! Me: Well I am officially down 30 lbs!!! I am taking my pills during the day and only one shot at night of insulin so I'm excited!!! I'm preparing myself for summer break and if I'm honest I am not looking forward to it!! Isn't it funny that when we were kids summer vacation was the most exciting time of year but know that we have kids the summer seems like more of a hassle and hard time that a great break!!! Jailyn just gets soooo bored at home with me and Marcus. I've signed her up for ALOT of activities and Marcus too so that should keep them busy and keep them from driving each other and me INSANE!!! wishful thinking I know but it's all I've got at this point!!!! JR: Not much new with him still on a weight watchers break but he still isn't gaining!! We all just got back this morning from our cruise!!! We went on a 3 day cruise to ensenada. It was alot of fun!! We were a little worried that the kids would be bored, but they went to the kids camp every day and at night and they had a ton of fun!!! They really liked sleeping in the bunk beds!! Now they want them at home however they both want to sleep on the top bunk which could be a problem!!! I got alot of really cute pictures of them but our computer is broken right now so I can't post them until we fix it. I promise I will as soon as I can!!! That's it for now!!! I won't make a promise I can't keep and say I'll post again real soon but I will try and feel free to call me on my lack of posting sometimes I just need a reminder!!! LOVE TO YOU ALL!!!!
