I've been a bust girl this summer!!!! Yeah as of 8am tomorrow morning summer will be officially over and I can get back to my routine!!! So much to catch you all up on where to start? Let's start with the kiddos....
Jailyn- She finally lost her first tooth!!! She went to bed one night and none of her teeth were loose ( we check every night when we brush) and she woke up the next morning and one of her teeth on the bottom was wiggling like crazy!!! She was soo cute she told me "Mommy this is the most excited I've ever been! Maybe the tooth fairy will leave me a $100.00!" I started cracking up!! I told her that the tooth fairy brings $5 for the 1st tooth and $1 after that!! Inflation even effects the tooth fairy I used to get $0.25 for a tooth!!! So the next day I told her to wiggle it a little everyday to help it get loose and she took it to heart and that night wiggled it for an hour until it fell out!!!
What else... she started playing soccer again!! She didn't have a good coach last season so she was really out of practice as far as proper playing goes but she's picking it back up again pretty well. She does ok but I noticed that she was getting winded pretty quick so I decided that we were going to start run/walking together a few days a week. We went yesterday morning and this morning I walk and and she jogs ahead of me. The first day she was winded after 5 mins but today she didn't get tired until the very end and we were out for about 40 mins. So hopefully between that and Soccer 3 days a week and gymnastics team 2 days a week she'll be in great shape soon!!! Did I say in the last post that after gymnastics camp was over she got moved up to the level 1 gymnastics team? They actually learn floor and beam routines and compete in in house competitions!! She's really excited!!!
She had a hula performance this summer too!! She started taking the class at the beginning of the summer with her best friend and instantly loved it!!! They did 3 dances and wore 2 different costumes!! She's not great she can't manage to move just her hips( her shoulders and everything go with them) but she had fun and it was a really cute little show!!! She of course looked sooo cute in her outfits too because she looks like she could be Hawaiian especially with her tan!!!
Marcus- Let's see.... Marcus took swimming lessons this again this year except this time Auntie Bonnie got in the pool with him!! YEAH!!!! The first class he did ok until it was time to get dunked and back float he screamed and cried and wanted to get out. I noticed that he didn't like the sun in his eyes when he back floated so the next day I gave him a pair of my $5 sunglasses that I found in my purse to wear while he swam!!! OMG!!! These sunglasses are now referred to as the "magic swimming glasses". He was like a different kid in there not only did he back float without complaint but he went under and was swimming around the pool like you wouldn't believe by the end of the 2 week session he was racing the instructors across the pool to get toys(with bonnie holding his tummy while he kicked and did big arms), back floating with bonnie barely touching him, going under by himself holding onto the wall (no bonnie) and even holding on to the wall having bonnie back away a few steps and swimming out to her by himself!!!! It was AMAZING!!! Thanks Bonnie for getting in everyday!!!!
He finished baseball class in August! We weren't too sad about that because it was pretty poorly organized so the kids had a tendency to get bored. But like I told JR you get what you pay for it was park and rec and it was only $24 for 6 weeks and a t-shirt so what can we really expect!!!
We started Karate and for those of you who have witnessed Marcus in his Power Ranger stage will know this is right up his alley!!! He does occasionally get in trouble for not listening or jumping around when he's supposed to be paying attention, but the teacher is very good about putting them in their place in way that isn't harsh but definitely gets the point across!! He really likes the class and I finally broke down and bought him a gee(the white karate outfit) so when I have pics of him in it I'll post them!
He also got his first big boy bike, with training wheels!! He was very excited when Auntie Tee Tee came over and told him she was taking him to Toys R Us to get a bike!!! He picked out a red and black one that looks like a motocross dirt bike!! It's very cool!! He even makes the motorcycle (homercycle as marcus calls them) sound when he rides it!! He's not great at riding it yet but he's getting the hang of it!! Thanks Auntie Tee Tee!!!
That's pretty much it just being as cute as can be as usual!! He makes me check his teeth everyday too!! And is sooo sad that he can't have a loose tooth like his sister:(
JR and I- Not a whole lot new here!! 2 weeks ago when I weighed in last I was down 38.6 lbs!! which is awesome but the non-routine and vacations of summer have really slowed down my loosing:( I just seem to be having trouble keeping my momentum going!! I think it's because I feel better, I look a little better and my clothes are not uncomfortable anymore that I'm starting to get lazy!! I'm going to "Face the music" and weigh in on Wednesday and get my lazy butt back on track!!! I'm tempted to throw away all my loose clothes but then I would literally have only 3 pairs of pants and like 5 shirts!! That could be a problem!!! So until i have enough money to buy some new clothes I'm stuck with what I've got even though some of it is 3 sizes too big now!!! The downfall of being a stay at home mom!!!
On that not having any extra $ note I am actually going to start watching a little girl from 7:30 am to 3 pm during the week. She's 2 1/2 years old. She's one of Bonnie's classroom aides daughter. She's really cute and sweet!! She came over for 3 hours on Wednesday and she and marcus played really well together and she was really well behaved. I'm not making a whole lot of $, I'm doing it more as a favor to help out her parents, but a little extra cash every week will be really nice!!! So maybe in a month or so I might have enough put aside to afford a few new shirts!!!
We celebrated our 4th wedding anniversary this year on August 14th!! It feels like soo much longer than that but I'm sure that's because in December we will have been together for 10 years!!! More than 1/3 of my lifetime!!! WOW!!! We went out to a very nice dinner at Ruth's Chris in Anaheim with our good friends Matt and Arlyn on the actual day 8/14. We then did a kid-free cruise the next weekend!! It was very relaxing and of course always nice to get away from it all for a weekend and relax and let other take care of you!! I ate ALOT!!!(see above complaint about vacays messing with my weight loss) we saw 3 pretty funny comedy shows and hung out by the pool!! we got lucky and were seated with a really cool couple who were our age for dinner, so we had a good time!! I even had a MARGARITA at Papas and beer in Ensenada!! I know please try not to pass out from the shock of me drinking!!!! I guess just knowing that we were going to Mexico and I didn't have anything to be responsible for made me start craving a margarita about 3 days before we left! I'm SUCH a lite weight that about 1/2 way through my margarita I was already starting to get tipsy!! That's what happens when you drink about 1 drink a year!!!!
Anyhooo..... I think that pretty much catches you all up!! Sorry it's soo long!!! I'm going to post a few pics in another blog right now before bed!! Thanks for taking the time to get all caught up!! I'll try to be better!!! Love you all!!
